Target
Bred in 1972 by the Hop Research Institute,
Wye. Target hops have a high alpha (10 to 12%). The
flavour characteristics have exceeded all expectations with a number
of brewers using it in a single hop varietal situation suited to
summer beers. Dry hopping with traditional whole hops is also
effective in some of the stronger ales, giving positive floral
aromas. An under-appreciated hop which deserves more attention.
