Challenger - Click to enlarge

Challenger

A fruity, almost scented aroma, with some spicy overtones, makes this a versatile kettle hop for all types of beer.  It blends well with other English varieties and is sometimes used as a late hop and dry hop, although full advantage is not then taken of its higher Alpha acid content unless it is in a processed form.

Alpha acid (range) 6.5 to 8.5%
Beta Acid (range) 3.2 to 4.2%
Ratio Alpha : Beta 2.0 : 1
Cohumulone (% of alpha) 29%
Total oils ml/100g (dry) 1.0 to 1.5
